avfilter is a Courier-MTA global filter for anti-virus scanning

If the target system supports core dumps, configure with something like:

   ./configure O_CFLAGS="-O2 -g"

Otherwise, the default configuration won't set "-g", thereby producing smaller
executables. (A "tavfilter" executable is built for testing purposes. It is
not installed, and should never be run as a real filter. Flags for it are in
D_CFLAGS. CFLAGS is for options common to both debugging and optimized builts.)

Consider --with-setuid-sig to install avfilter_sig setuid.

If using grsecurity, consider paxctl -cm /path/to/courier/filters/avfilter

Starting with version 3, avfilter uses Clam AV. Prior versions used Sophos.
